With Halloween coming up in less than a week, I realized we hadn't done any Halloween crafts. As you know, I am really, really good a trying things.. see here, here, and here. But I am NOOO Pinterest mom, just trying to get by on my mediocre crafting skills. Lucky for me, my kids just love creating, no matter how it looks! So, last night, we got busy on a fun craft to make spiders.
You probably have most of the items needed lying around.
We used:
2 Paper Plates
Yellow, White and Black paint
Paint Brushes
A Hole Punch
Yarn (All I had yellow or pink :) )
We started by painting the plates orange
Folks, the most photogenic kids in all the land..... oh man, these kids are silly.
Next, the fun part. I painted the palms and 4 fingers of each hand to make the legs and body of the spider. Don't paint the thumb, it becomes an alien at that point :) Here is Luke's...
Chloe's - I also love projects that show their size in some way. We can look back and see how little her 2-year-old hands were.
All done with making the spiders
I used a q-tip and white and black paint to make the eyes, but you can also use googly eyes.
To make the web, punch holes around the edge of the plate.
Then, we used the yarn and pulled it through the holes to make the web. The kids were able to chose where the yarn would go to make their own webs.
And you are finished! Your very own spider with a web.
Have fun and Happy Crafting!
What are some of your favorite Halloween crafts or projects?
