Weekend at the Coast

This summer we got away to the Central Coast with our family and it was so much fun! My parents have a house at the coast with beautiful views and we just love going there. These 3 cousins sure love hanging out together.

These two girls are only 7 months apart and love being  together.

And of course, they LOVE their Bepa!

We spent time at the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum. This was our second time there and it is just a blast! The museum is 3 floors and includes an outside play area too.

Who doesn't love a little kinetic sand?

Can you make an earthquake proof building?

The third floor has trains, so that is always a fun place to spend time. This table is so neat, there are holes in the middle so the kids can pop through and play.

Music time.

The second floor has a ton of dress-up costumes and role playing activities.

These girls found the only 2 purple princess dresses.

Next to the costumes is a stage and a puppet show area too.

This time, we explored the little restaurant and the kids had a blast serving us food and cleaning up afterwards.

Playing Doctor.

*not the ideal way to weigh a baby.....

After the museum, we had lunch and went to the beach. My dad LOVES building sandcastles and it is always so fun to watch him do it with the little ones.

Amatchi and the grandkids

Sisters

For some reason, I left the kids' swimsuits in the car thinking the water would be too cold....oops. They didn't seem to mind.

We even explored a few caves.

The finished product!

Sunday was a little less busy. A little bit of coloring with Color Wonder- MY FAVE!! and then off to the playground.

We had so much on this trip and cannot wait to head over to the coast again. Big thanks to my parents for hosting all 7 of us, we all had a great time!

The Last Weekend

On Monday, my oldest will start Kindergarten. How can that be? I can only vaguely remember what life was like before he made me a mother. And now, now he heads off to start the first of many First Days of School. As a working mom, him going to school won't effect my schedule much. Heck, I will hardly notice a difference in my day to day life. But his is about to change forever!

Yes, Luke we to preschool, but it was only 2 days a week for a few months. He loved it but it was hard to get attached to any of the kids, or parents for that matter, because it was so temporary.

Kindergarten. My stepmom once said that as soon as kids start attending school and you can count the years in grades, it all goes by so quickly. I hope that isn't the case, even though I am sure she is right.

It has been such a joy to have our boy at home with us so much and now we send him off to a new environment and pray he learned well from us. Pray that he has good influences. Pray that he himself is a good influence. Pray that he has fun and learns a ton. Pray for me as I am 99.9% positive I will cry as we walk away from his class after drop off. Tears of love, excitement for him, and a feeling of shock that we are already here.

I can't believe that I have a kid attending school, like real school. I remember LOVING elementary school and I am looking forward to the great experiences he will have too.

This is our last weekend before school starts. Our very first Last Weekend before school starts. I will treasure it so because come Monday morning, my little preemie-baby that grew into such a sweet, helpful boy heads off to a whole new world. I can't wait to watch him learn. He surprises us almost daily with his language, actions and behavior.

Cheers to class of 2030. Kindergarten is only the beginning!

Legoland Round 2

Awhile back, we had the opportunity to head down to Legoland California again this year. ( check out our first time here ) It feels like we have gotten to travel so much this year, all with our munchkins too. It was so much fun to go back to Legoland California, we felt like old pros! We went during the week, which allowed for really short lines for just about everything.

Luke's favorite ride is the Safari Trek. Fun, animal themed cars take you around a track where you get to see tons of animals made out of legos!

We have also grown fond of the Fairy Tale Brook boats.

We got out of Fairy Tale Brook just in time to do a Meet N Greet with the Heartlake City girls. Chloe went right up for a hug. The girls were so sweet.

This.... all day, every day. They are so cute when they hold hands.

Luke LOVES these cars. How fun that even the young ones can drive the cars by themselves.

We tried this ride for the first time....its a fun family relay.

One of my favorite things about Legoland CA, is that in each of the different areas of the park, there is a stop to take a break, go inside, sit down and play legos. A chance to catch your breath from all of the fun you are having to be creative. The kids loved this.

We tried Skipper School for the first time too. Luke loved driving the boat.

They had just released more of the Star Wars exhibit in the Miniland USA.....

I love the Coastal Cruise too. Another chance to slow down, sit down, have a few laughs and enjoy the lego scenery.

The kids LOVE the Ninja area of the park. Ninjago is my favorite ride. But this area have a few fun active spots for the kids to play in, always a plus.

The Beetle Bounce tops the kids' list of fave rides too.

Chewie!

And of course, the helicopter rides.

Day 2, back at the Safari Trek. Unless you get there riiiiight when it opens, I would skip this one until later in the day. This is one of the first rides you can go on and there is usually a line even early in the day.

Headed straight to Fairy Tale Brook again right after Safari Trek.

We stopped to play in FunTown for a bit and the kids rode the train. This play area is so fun with a ton of things for the kids to do. And only 1 exit! Most play areas at LLCA only have 1 exit, which is very helpful when you are trying to keep an eye on 2 kids.

Junior Driving School again, he was starting to get pretty good.

Ha, this photo makes me laugh

We love exploring Miniland USA. We always find something new to OHH and AHH about.

And I love that it's educational....

Posing like a ninja :)

Again, We love the Ninjago World!

On our second day, we also checked out Sealife again. I just love aquariums and this one does not disappoint!

It is super interactive for the kids, and if they hit all of the stations, they get a cute little hat!

Our last stop for the day, Chloe and momma on the Coastersaurus!

We have really enjoyed our 2 trips to Legoland California so far this year. The kids love every square inch of this park, and the folks at Legoland have truly thought of every way to make a theme park family friendly. My one gripe is the Royal Joust where you have to be 36 inches and 4 years old. My two-year-old, who meets the height minimum, was devastated that they wouldn't let her on this ride. Other then that, we loved every second. This place is super fun with young kids and there is so much to do!
