Yellowstone Day 2 started bright and early. We had a ton to see! We started at Gibbon Falls.
Next we continued north to see the Clearwater Springs
I think this is my favorite picture of the kiddos on this trip.
More buffalo
We stopped at the Roaring Mountain
And the Frying Pan Spring
Next, we spent some time at the Norris Geyser Basin. There are boardwalks to get a 360 degree view.
A buffalo family!
Next, we went to the Lower Geyser Basin
Fountain Paint Pots
Then we made our way to Midway Geyser Basin. Here you will find more boardwalks to use to enjoy the scenery.
The most beautiful place, Grand Prismatic Spring
Opal Spring
Small Prismatic Spring
This spot was so windy. Sometimes the combination of the steam with the wind would take my breath away.
We made it to Ole Faithful! Just as it was going off. What a sight.
Our drive on the lower loop took us past the Continental Divide a few times.
Our last spot in Yellowstone was at the West Thumb Geyser Basin
This sign though...
Yellowstone Lake...it might have been a bit bright :)
This actually flows into the lake
Take the southern exit.
Yellowstone was absolutely AMAZING. I took a few geology classes in college so it was especially neat for me to see the geothermic features. I can't wait to go back!
We left Yellowstone for the Grand Tetons...more on the next time
